Liberty! Time Line and Individual Book Project
Causes of the American Revolution (Timeline) --> Students are working in small teams to research, summarize and reflect on the events leading up to the American Revolution. Posters are being created and will be presented. A large timeline containing all the posters will be the final product.
Individual Book Project --> Students are working on a short project focusing on a variety of expository books about the American Revolutionary War. Here are some possibilities --
- Create poems to represent different parts of the the book.
- Is the book's title the right choice? Find examples from the book to support this. If it's not the right choice, create a new title, and find examples from the book to support your new title.
- Design a timeline for the events in your book.
- Top 10 things learned from this book.
- Create your own test -- multiple choice, matching, crossword puzzle, word searches...
- Design puppets and act out a scene from the book.
- Write a letter from one of the characters to a relative about some different events in the book.
- Create a poster advertisement for the book
- Create a comic strip or storyboard representing an event from the book.
- Write a different beginning or end to the story. How would this change history?
- Write a diary from one of the character's point of view.
- Choose a scene from the book and create a diorama.
- Create a model of something from your book.
- Conduct and interview with one of the characters from your book.
